Orissa beat Assam by 4 wickets

Syed Zaki`s four-wicket haul and a half-century by Pallabindu Mishra enabled hosts Orissa beat Assam by four wickets on the third and final day of their East Zone Vijay Merchant Trophy under-16 cricket match at Bidanasi ground in Cuttack today. Despite taking a 20-run first innings lead, Assam suffered the defeat because of lack-lustre batting in the second innings, which was terminated for a paltry 107. Needing 128 to win the game, the home side overhauled the target in 44.1 overs, losing six wickets in the process. The outright victory fetched Orissa five points, while Assam drew blank.
